When do I need the concordance certificate?
When you had an NIE, now hold a DNI, and an authority or company needs to confirm both numbers belong to the same person.
Guide
The concordance certificate proves that the NIE you held as a foreigner and your Spanish DNI belong to the same person. It is common after acquiring nationality, to update banks, the tax office, Social Security or registries.
It can be requested by an authorised person with a notarial power of attorney (legalised and translated if the notary is outside Spain) and a legalised copy of your DNI.
It is requested at the Police certificates appointment («Certificados (residencia, no residencia, concordancia)»). Some provinces have a specific concordance-certificate appointment.
