Do older people need an appointment at the DGT?
People aged 65 or over can go without an appointment during each office's priority hours, except for exchanging licences from treaty countries, which always needs one.
Guide · 2026

The DGT appointment is free and is booked for one Traffic office and one area (Drivers, Vehicles, Fines, Exams, Exchanges…). The DGT tries to give it within the next fifteen days. Before booking, check whether your procedure can be done online without an appointment.
The appointment is free. The procedure fees (licence renewal, transfer, duplicate…) are paid separately to the DGT, usually online before the day, and you bring the receipt.
If you want us to watch for slots for you, our service is only charged if we get the appointment; DGT fees are not included.
On the appointment site, «Consulta o modifica tus citas», with the office, the date and the DNI; also in the miDGT app or by calling 060. To change it, book a new one and cancel the old one.
Slots free up during the day through cancellations and go within minutes. We watch the official calendar non-stop, book in your name the moment one appears and message you on WhatsApp. You only pay if we get it.
