The procedure must be initiated at the request of the interested party, and in any case the person must state that they lack nationality.
The deadline to submit the application is a maximum of 1 month from entry into national territory. Outside that deadline, or if an expulsion order has been opened, the application will be considered manifestly UNFOUNDED.

El procedimiento se ha de iniciar a instancia del interesado, y en todo caso será necesario que la persona manifieste carecer de nacionalidad.
El Plazo para presentar la solicitud será de 1 mes como máximo desde la entrada en territorio nacional. Fuera de dicho plazo o teniendo incoada una orden de expulsión, se considerará minifiestamente INFUNDADA.
La solicitud se hará de forma personal, debiendo aportar los siguientes documentos:
• Modelo solicitud del Estatuto de Apátrida, expedido por triplicado. Dicho formulario puede obtenerlo en el siguiente enlace (pdf)
• Dos fotografias tamaño carné
• Documentos por duclicado, que desee aportar el solicitante en apoyo de su solicitud.
